Milo Gill-Taylor

Profile

Milo is the youngest ever sailor to qualify for an Optimist Worlds Team at the age of 11 in 2011, and went on to win the next 2 GBR Selection Trials qualifying for the Worlds Team for 3 years in a row. He has also won all 3 Optimist Nationals titles – Regatta fleet, Junior and Senior National Champion. The summer of 2013 he won a Bronze Medal at the Optimist Worlds Team Racing Championships, followed by the British, Irish and Belgian National Championships. He won the Junior Gold Cup in Bermuda becoming the 2013 Champion of Champions. In 2014 he qualified for the Optimist European Championships in Dublin, Ireland, for one last Optimistic adventure before stepping in to a Laser 4.7, and is currently in the Laser 4.7 National Junior Squad. After the Laser 4.7 Europeans and Worlds representing GBR in the summer of 2015, Milo will move in to the Laser Radial.

Milo learnt to sail at age 5 at Spinnaker Sailing Club, and started to race at age 7. His love of sailing and tenacious attitude has helped him focus his training at an early age, and enabled him to develop into a successful and ambitious young sailor.
